Tour de International Delight

Coffee!!! Specifically International Delight‘s new product!

When I find a good new product I get excited and talk about it constantly to everyone I meet. Check out my post on International Delight Iced Coffee that I wrote a few weeks ago when I was first introduced to it!

Even though it’s winter outside, the warmer weather we’ve  been having lends itself towards dreams of spring and summer. Although I usually brew my coffee HOT in the winter, the mild season has kindly lent itself to the enjoyment of ICED coffee, my warm weather friend.

I’ve gone to great lengths to get affordable iced coffee. I’ve tried several homemade recipes, most of which I had to start the night before so if I forgot to begin it, I had to either not have coffee (not an option) or run down to Starbucks or McDonald’s for an expensive, but tasty iced drink.

All of that being said- Anytime someone has come into my home the last 3 weeks I’ve showed them International Delight’s new coffee line and insisted they tried it. I love to see their surprised faces! I’m kind of a dork, I seriously do get excited introducing people to it.  Because I like to share, AND THE FACT that it’s called International Delight, I decided to go on a little tour around my home town and share the product with my friends! (Click HERE for my shopping trip experience and pictures!)

Previously I  had wanted to do a craft party at my house and have a coffee tasting but when conflicting kid nap schedules, sickness (in my house!) and even a friend put on bed rest happened, I re-grouped and decided that if they couldn’t come to me that I’d go to them.

My coffee tour went through three towns over the week and ended Sunday when I took the rest of my three flavors of International Delight Coffee to a afternoon bible study in a near by town. I knew my girls would like it because: 2 of my friends are pregnant and still drinking coffee (like I did through both pregnancies!) and 2 other of my friends have babies just a few months old with older children in the house. If EVER caffeine was needed in their lives… now is the time! They were really excited about it and hadn’t seen it yet although they had seen my pics on Facebook.

The first place I took it too was about 40 minutes away where my inlaws live. They had been by my house a few days before and tried two of the flavors so I took the third one out to them. I tried to get my non-coffee drinking mother-in-law to drink it but she wouldn’t :) My sister in law loved it and her teenage kids thought it was the best thing EVER.

Perhaps it’s stretching it here- but I DID take a cup of it to a friend in a town just 10 minutes away. They didn’t get to try all three flavors but loved the mocha flavored one!

And I think it’s only fair to count MY OWN town as part of the “tour” which would really make it 4 towns I took the coffee too! HAH! What’s funny is my goal of introducing the coffee at a fancy-schmancy tasting would have been a blast but only a few friends would have been there- instead I had everyone who walked into my house try it and we have people over all the time.  We had my family over for dinner, some friends over for dinner then one other friend who came over for a play date. Nothing big all at the same time, but a few people here and there was even better!

I had a fun time talking about this product for several reasons: for people that regularly spend money at coffee house, this will actually save you money. It’s cheaper per ounce, saves time waiting in line and is more eco-friendly if you re-use your own cup at home.

You can follow them on Facebook and Twitter for product updates!

Favorite quotes from the coffee tour:

-My brother- raised eyebrows looking skeptically at the carton, “Umm I don’t know if I want to try this…” then, “Oh, wow- that is actually good!” said with amazement in their eyes. “who makes this???”

-My coffee snob friend who roasts his own beans (and RUNS a coffee house!) critically looked at the carton, tried it only because it was made with Arabica coffee and was surprised, “That was actually good!”

-My sister in law, “OH MY GOODNESS! That is better than Starbucks or McDonalds! and consistent! You never know what you’ll get at McDonaldas” She was really surprised and kept staring at me. :) She and my brother in law were probably the most excited. Her teenage kids loved it too- they like the fact it’s sweeter and can be made into frappachinos!

-“I can’t WAIT to try this!” friend who took a carton home to try- she had already had a lot of coffee that day and didn’t want any more. HAH!
