Since having a child I’m always behind. That’s ok, the things I’m “behind” on are really not that important anyways- they include mainly new music and movies. Both of which I enjoy, but in the big scheme of things, not that important. Anyways, now that I’ve disclaimed myself, I wanted to say that I really enjoyed the movie “Into the Wild” and the accompanying soundtrack. Do you know how you have to be in the right mood for certain movies? Well I was in the right mood for “Into the Wild”, directed by Sean Penn, and loved it. It’s the story of Chris McCandless, a guy who gave up everything to basically live off the land and be “Alexander Supertramp”. The guy who played the main character was actually up for an Oscar for his performance but lost to Daniel Day-Lewis (naturally!!). Any other year he would have won. The soundtrack is great too, Eddie Vedder, the lead singer of Pearl Jam, wrote and composed all the songs and it is soul stirring. Big words I know!
Another great movie/soundtrack I have really enjoyed recently is “The Darjeeling Limited”. A Wes Anderson film (need I say more?) I was suppose to see last Summer but well, you know… life happens. Great, Great, Great! See both of these films and buy both the soundtracks. There’s my plug for the week.
