Monday Happies

Such an honor!

-The fact Arkansas Women Bloggers posted my article on being a young mom has to be my HAPPY OF THE MONTH!!! Read below or click HERE to read it! I submitted it over a month ago and figured it was too silly for them- but then they decided to post it! It is affirming and makes me feel more like a “real” blogger. My self doubt tries to strangle me some times but it’s safely gone… for now! LOL

-NEW ROOF! From a brown recluse-infested shake roof to a new, asphalt shingle one!  I feel like a real adult now, like getting a new roof and deciding on shingle color was some how a huge step in the adulthood direction. I felt mature talking to the roofers, so cool, like making major home changes is just something I do every day. I catch myself acting a part sometimes and I can’t help but fall over laughing.

-Bear not having potty accidents should be a Monday Happy every week… I LOVE LOVE LOVE having a potty trained child! It’s so freeing!

-I love my new iphone case. It’s white and blue. I feel so ready for the beach. I can’t believe how much a simple phone case has brought me so much joy! Seriously- I am a very visual person and seeing beauty- even in an otterbox, makes me smile.

Red Roses from my sweets!

-Roses from my sweet. It was a very hard weekend. The kind of weekend that leaves you standing still wondering what just happened like a emotional tornado ripped through your body. This doesn’t seem like a TRUE happy, but sometimes resolution is an adult happy. And the roses helped. :)

-Bug started to sing songs (only) I can recognize. As a mother, this is entirely the most adorable thing EVER. :) He started singing The Beatles, which, of course, only makes him that much more cool in my Mommy eyes. I love to stop and just look at him some times. To remember this stage. To see how his body works and moves as he toddles around the house enthralled with himself and his world. I love to see how he holds things, looks at them and mimics behavior of his older brother.

Ben's Crush loot lined up so perfectly.

-My husband have developed a “crush” (HAR HAR HAR) on Crush beverages. He went to the dollar general and came back with 7 2-liters. REALLY. This is hilarious to me- some times we act like little kids, getting the things we wanted as children and were denied so now that we CAN get what we want we sometimes can go overboard! Ben and I can act like big kids. I love it when we catch each others’ eyes in a moment like this, like we have an “in” on happiness that others miss.

-I love the stillness in my house during nap time. I never lay down anymore because of the therapy of the refrigerator humming, cats grooming and random outside noises. I feel peace flood through my body, my muscles I didn’t realize were tensed up relax and I breathe deep. I suddenly see the beauty around me. The way light is flickering through the leaves outside my front window like water. The after of my fireplace make-over. I love the white- it’s clean and bright and I feel happy when I look at it. I love pretty things. I see God’s hand in everything delicate and colorful.

My awesome sisters-in-law

-I’m so glad I have awesome Sisters-in-law! They have such amazing hearts. Sarea took this picture and didn’t realize she was itching her nose. Every time I look at this picture I bust out laughing. I love Sarea’s positive out look on life, she is strong and blazed her own path. Harmony is the gentle counterpart, softer and the most humble, grace-filled person I know. I’m blessed to know them and have them in my family.

I liked your mommy post on the Arkansas Women Bloggers site, it was funny and light hearted. :)

Isn’t it so fun making adult decisions about our homes? Dallas and I are about to get new shutters and paint our front door a new color. I feel like a five year old at Christmas!!
