…asked the pretty bridesmaid from some big city about my beeeautiful, sexy ‘Lady in Red’ number that I wore on Saturday. (will post pics soon, don’t worry.)
“No, TJ Maxx,” I responded. She didn’t say anything and walked away from me. Hmmm. I guess we didn’t have anything in common after all.
So I coordinated my first wedding this weekend. It went well, other than the mis-cue by the janitor/sound tech. (yes, really, a package deal he was) when the BRIDE entered. The poor flower girl was halfway down the aisle when the trumpets blared… I had just closed the doors a second ago for the grand reveal, then I was yelling “open the doors, open the doors!!!”
It was fun. I liked it… the power… making the entire church move several times to accommodate the 100 extra guests that never came. (per the instructions of the mother of the bride) My duty was suppose to end at the end of the wedding, but the planning committee at the country club was, well, non existent so I served punch for a few minutes, stopped a riot at the chocolate cake, served some cake, announced when the bride was throwing the bouquet and cutting the cake, etc. etc. I managed to fool people into thinking that I knew what I was doing!
There were several times during the rehearsal that I had small panic attacks and thought to myself, “what have I got myself in to?????? I have NO idea what to do next!” Then I looked at the program and BS’d my way to the end. Thank God. No really. Thank GOD.
And before KATY gets mad, we had a bachelorette party for her Thursday!!! Will post pic of that too soon!! 😉
