I don’t know if it’s because I’m not nursing anymore, or just that it’s summer time, but I’ve been really sentimental lately. I was listening to Vivaldi’s The 4 Seasons the other day and it brought childhood memories back of dancing around in dress-up clothes. I can just hear the violin right now! We would wear long, flowing silky night gowns that had belonged to our great-grandmother, Granny Barber, who was quite the snazzy dresser. We had boxes of gaudy, chunky costume jewelry, and boxes of all different colors of silky…. lingerie. That’s pretty much what it was!!! We thought we had princess gowns. We also had a box of her party clothes and let me just say I wish I had lived at that time period. The clothes were awesome! I realized that this is where I get my interest in fashion from, it’s genetically programmed in my DNA. She was a party girl, let me tell you. Right now I’m actually wearing some of her clip-on earrings. The picture below is my sister Katy and her friend Jessa modeling some of the clothes when they were in Jr. High, (minus the leopard cowboy hat). I wish you could see them better. These are some of the tamer outfits!
