#GivingTuesday: The Cobblestone Project

Today, I just want to challenge each of you to do what you can where you are.

Today is #GivingTuesday, a day where we talk about how we can give back.

Some of you may remember from last summer my visit out to the The Farm in Fayetteville, AR. I took my then almost 3-year-old with me and we walked rows of growing vegetables, watched free range chickens squabbling and pecking and got to see in a few greenhouses. We saw  exactly what a small, working farm looked like, one that is a subscription base but gives HALF of that produce to local food pantries and shelters.

A dear family friend tirelessly spends her days serving the homeless population here locally in Northwest Arkansas and works with Laundry Love the first Friday of every month. Every time I talk to her she ends up choked up sharing life story after life story. I think the funny thing is that so often we set out with the mission to “help someone in need” only to find that it’s really us that are changing and helped.

I could go on and on. Some of you locals may know that behind some of these following initiatives is one umbrella non-profit:

The Cobblestone Project

  • Laundry Love
  • 3 Bags in 2 Days
  • The Farm
  • Help Portrait

Right now there is a matching dollar for dollar grant that would help FUND these initiatives that serve people in Northwest Arkansas. We have through the end of the year to raise this money, would you consider partnering with us? {http://www.cobblestoneproject.org}

Who does your heart beat for?

If you don’t live here or already have that non-profit you have admired for awhile in mind- show them today and this month.

  • Write a blog post supporting them, OR
  • Facebook and Tweet about them to raise general awareness for them

It’s great if you can go serve there, donate money and your time but for the full-time workers, the stay at home moms with 3 kids and other difficulties… Just simply do what you can where you are.

Did you know that is enough?

Today, use your influence for good.
