“Dress for the day you want to have not the one that is trying to have you…”

I went to a blogging conference in Dallas over the weekend and was refreshed, inspired and a bit overwhelmed.
There were so many talented people that sometimes I felt a bit lost. I was hoping to meet and find a strange little group that would be a community… I looked and looked, handing cards out, waiting… and then I realized that the best conversations I was having was with the people I already knew and loved. We went deeper and I found that I already had that which I was searching for. Isn’t it crazy when that happens?
I could talk for hours about the weekend but really found that it exceeded my expectations both in speakers and quality of people there.
I choose clothing that I felt were items that I would wear most days to hang out with friends and represented ME. I didn’t want to dress up too much but also didn’t want to wear yoga pants either…
Oh, and when I found my Dress for the Day friend Dear Abby Leigh walking around at the conference, I grabbed her for a picture. (and yes… that is my Dress for the Day outfit from last week…. oh my my my) See below how I dressed for the weekend and the beautiful people who were a part of my experience and made it amazing.
I got a headshot… and questioned the bauble necklace over and over… I think about 100 other people had ones on… I was not very original with this outfit selection but it was about sunshine, comfort and stepping a little outside my flannel comfort zone.
The first night I met some beautiful and amazing bloggers who write with heart. I look forward to reading their blogs this spring. You can’t see but I’m wearing a red flannel shirt. My “it’s good to meet you” clothing comfort zone. 😉
I met a Twitter crush, Jenny on the spot and (of course) we kinda matched. 😉 I enjoyed seeing and talking with her the whole weekend- except for the time she tried to get me to dance on stage at the girl’s night in…
Here are days 2 and 3 of Dress for the Weenend… I wish I had stood stiller- I was ready to GO!
and finally, roommates. I was blessed to have people who were considerate (and didn’t SNORE!). Great to meet you Leah (striped sweater) & Becky (Yellow t-shirt)! and Lindsey- (Preggers in the blue) You made the whole experience amazing. Thanks for driving with me and being my security blanket, lol!
