Between events, weddings, guests, dinners and etc, etc etc…
recovery and life here I am again…
In case you missed why Jacqueline and I are writing about 30 Days of real, read here. I hope that you’ve been enjoying our Instagram, Twitter and FB posts every day! More than us, I’ve absolutely loved getting little glimpses into the other people that have joined in! Thank YOU!
Yesterday it was Ben’s birthday. He’s not really into celebrating his birthday so I felt like I was forcing my birthday cheers onto him. Whatever. He’ll totally be thankful for the memories some day! We went to a restaurant to get a big breakfast after we dropped the kids off at school and were younger than the average customer by a good 30-50 years. After that we looked at cars on different lots, took my niece out for HER birthday to celebrate turning 16 (a bit late…) and then picked up the kids and went to a small, local grocery store to get cake.
Do you ever have days that are so delightfully average that they are deeply meaningful? It’s hard to explain, it’s a rare gift to see everything that you typically take for granted so clearly.
This season is off like a shot and I’m hanging on.
I feel sometimes that every single minute of each day is planned and thought through. There have been days that I am moving so quickly that I feel like I’m running on one of those moving sidewalks at the airport– life is a blur to the edges. I’m getting to my destination a little more efficiently and quickly but in the meantime I’m a bit distracted. I’m committed to sharing the real this month- so today it’s simply a memory of Realness in years past… 😉
