I don’t cook much but occasionally I’ll get the bug and over-do it creating a conglomerate of delectable delights from scratch and have left overs for days. This is not one of those cases I’m talking about in my blog today, rather, I made yummy comfort food that made me nostalgic for summers past. This meal would have been perfect but for the fact that the veggies and fruit weren’t from a stand, they were from Wal-Mart BUT they tasted surprisingly good.
For dinner we had steak, boiled baby potatoes, stir-fried zucchini and squash, a (unnecessary) salad with grape tomatoes and carrots, fresh corn on the cob and vidalia onions cooked on the grill which melted in my mouth. mmmmmmmmm. Fresh strawberries for dessert. This makes me think of lazy summer nights sitting outside swatting mosquitios and drinking rum. The chirping of the crickets and those other rackety insects is a soothing lullaby as the stars begin to shine…
Crap, I need to go do dishes now.
PS I wish I was watching Indiana Jones right now and not blogging
PSS Sharpie markers and 12-month olds don’t mix. Also, food is better served to said baby through mouth, not eyeball.
