A little bit of folk

Music for me is like a bunch of best friends that know my soul. When I listen to a certain band it takes me back either to a high time in my life, or sometimes to a very dark place. I swap around, loving a certain band for a month then moving on to another love. I guess music wise I’m rather promiscuous! One band is pulling at my heart then it’s onto another. One I frequently return to is Nickel Creek. I love the folksy blue grassy sounds even though I rarely listen to their middle album because of bad memories intertwined with the notes and chorus of the songs. However, I love the first and third album as well as singles that I’ve purchased off itunes over the years. The lead singer, Chris Thile, is the main reason I love the band. I love his effortless passionate voice and the way he slams on his mandolin like no one can!!! I was able to see Nickel Creek in concert a few years back and they were amazing live. Chris Thile released an album independently of Nickle Creek, or actually, after the band kind of split up. I love this album, it was like he was able to stretch out without restrictions and create a smooth and mostly upbeat album of his own. Anyhoo, I found one of my faves on youtube so enjoy the song…
